Celebrating personal growth!
May 04, 2023Boy do I have a story to tell you . . .
I have a crazy story to tell you all about my experience with my van, Alani 🚐 from our 2 months in Baja, 🇲🇽.
We were driving down a really freaking bumpy back country dirt road when my grey water tank vibrated off the undercarriage of the van. Which meant my kitchen sink and shower were out of commission until it was fixed.
I decided to take on the challenge of fixing of replacing the tank and installing all new plumbing myself. (BIG shout out to my van builder @horizonconversionvans for rebuilding the grey water tank frame for me)
Ok true transparency, the task was a little daunting but I’m incredibly grateful to @socal_van_life for all your help and use of your engineering brain.
I think I crawled under the van about a million times, hitting my head countlessly on the undercarriage (you think I would have learned after a while), and challenged myself to use a metal angle grinder which was scary AF.
And To top it off, I drilled into the undercarriage of the van, lighting my forearms on fire from the power drill into the thick metal.
But you know what? I’m really freaking proud of myself for tackling a project that I thought was bigger than my ability. I challenged myself to do what I thought was not possible. . . so I’m celebrating ME BIG!
AND I’m pumped that I can use my kitchen sink and shower again in my tiny home on wheels.
Moral of the story?
1. Don’t follow @jeremy_danger_r down a back road in Baja 🇲🇽🤣
2. Don’t be afraid to take on challenges that seem too big for you. With a little determination and a lot of perseverance, great friends, anything is possible.
Cheers to celebrating wins and personal growth! 🎉🙌🏼
