The Fear of Failure is Total BS (Belief System)

Let’s get real – the fear of failure is like that annoying song that gets stuck in your head. It keeps you playing small and doubting your awesomeness. But guess what? It’s all a bunch of BS – Belief System! We’re here to change that narrative and transform your fears into fierce forward motion.

Understanding the Fear of Failure

The fear of failure often stems from those cringe-worthy stories we tell ourselves about shame, judgment, and unworthiness. It’s like a cloud raining on your parade. But here’s the plot twist – failure is just an illusion, a stepping stone to something greater.

The Power of Breathwork

One of the most effective ways to shift our perspective is through breathwork. When we’re anxious, we tend to take short, shallow breaths from our chest. This activates our sympathetic nervous system, putting us in fight-or-flight mode. By slowing down our breath and breathing deeply into our belly, we can calm our nervous system and access a state of relaxation and clarity.

Breathwork Techniques for Grounding

Ready for some breathwork magic? Try this: Inhale for a count of four, hold for a moment, then exhale for a count of seven. Repeat this a few times and feel the difference it makes in your body and mind.

  • Inhale (4 counts): Breathe deeply into your belly.
  • Hold (Pause): Savor the fullness of your breath.
  • Exhale (7 counts): Release slowly and fully.

Feel that? That’s your anxiety taking a back seat while your inner zen master takes the wheel.

Falling Forward

A dear friend once dropped a wisdom bomb on me: "falling forward." Instead of seeing failure as a setback, we can view it as a step towards growth. It’s about learning what worked and what didn’t and having the guts to pivot and try again. This mindset shift can free us from the paralyzing fear of failure and open us up to new possibilities.

Personal Journey

Let me spill some tea – I’ve faced the fear of failure more times than I can count, especially when I decided to buy my van and live life on the road. The fear was real, but so was the excitement. And guess what? By leaning into that fear and taking bold steps, I’ve met incredible people, facilitated breathwork sessions across the country, and experienced profound personal growth.

Your Permission Slip

I’m giving you the green light to feel the fear and do it anyway. Embrace those sweaty pit moments as signs that you’re on the brink of something epic. Take a sacred pause, breathe deeply, and remind yourself that you are worthy of your dreams. There’s no perfection, only progress.

Welcome back to another episode of Raw and Radiant. am so excited that you're here, magical soul. Thank you for joining me. Today, want to talk to you about something that has been really prevalent time and time again in breathwork sessions that I've been facilitating, is this illusion of the fear of failure. And so want to talk to you about that fear of failure and how This fear of failure is simply shutting down your energetics. It's shutting down the energy that's within you, that activation, that aliveness. It shuts down your dreams. It shuts down your hopes, your desires. It shuts down your motivation. And really what this fear of failure is, is there's stories that you're telling yourself, stories that there's shame, that there's judgment, that you're not worthy enough. And please know that have been in this fear of failure. It has been very, very strong in my life. And what something that keep coming back to time and time again is my breath and what is within my breath and how am breathing? So if find myself breathing from my chest, and if you could see me now, like I'm tapping into those short, shallow breaths that you take within your chest, that is that anxiety. That is that sympathetic nervous system that's fully activated. Your sympathetic nervous system is your fight or flight. That's when you want to run away from that bear or that dog that's trying to attack you. So tapping into what's within your breath, if you can slow down your breath, if you can take pause moment and just sit wherever you are, if you're in the car, if you're on the toilet, or if you're in your closet, can you just simply sit down ground yourself and find how you were breathing. Are you breathing those short, shallow breaths from your chest? Or are you able to slow that down and find your breath and your belly in your diaphragm? Because that's when we get to see those stories, bless them and release them, right? So slowing down the breath, fully filling your belly, fully expanding that belly, maybe even taking few rounds of an inhale of four to an exhale of seven, three or four times that allows you to tap into the magic that's within you. That allows you to tap into the energy that's back within you. So know that failure is an illusion. And how like to see this is that failure is this illusion piece of Maybe we can reframe it. Maybe we can change how we speak of failure, of those self-imposed stories that we're telling ourselves that aren't serving us. So maybe we can redirect this fear of failure, air quotes, into it's falling forward. One of my dear friends dropped that into my space several years ago. And that falling forward is an opportunity to learn what worked and what didn't work. So that is the illusion. So it's taking that pivot and the courage to change. Shifting your breath, how are you breathing, slowing down, becoming into the moment so that you can recognize what your dreams are, recognize what you hope for your future, and know that, you know what, there is no regrets, there is an opportunity to just there is an opportunity to just simply shift your story, to change the shame, to change the guilt that you're not worthy enough, because you know what? We all are worthy enough. So having the courage to pivot, to have the courage to know that there are no regrets. But what want to ask you is this one simple question. If you didn't do that one thing, how would that make you feel? So, The falling forward is how we're going to now perceive this in this conversation is learning what worked and what didn't work. So I'm coming back to the story about tapping into the first time buying my van and wanting to have this adventurous life, wanting to have this freedom, wanting to have this liberation of stories from the past. and also being able to shift my perspective into can create the self-trust, can create the self-love within me, but it's also There is definitely fear. There is definitely fear of failing to the van. wouldn't have met the people that have met along the way. My dreams and my hopes and desires of facilitating breathwork across the country would not be reality in my life. So those would be things that would have really some big regrets about. And so like to tell myself that when have this fear that's arising within me, maybe it's just this like excitement. And when start to have what call these sweaty pit moments is where literally my my armpits start to sweat profusely. can feel the dripping coming down my arms. That's when know that am in the exact place that am meant to be. That is the courage that get to lean into. That is this permission slip that am moving forward. am doing what my soul is aligned to do. So am giving you the permission right now to feel that uncomfortable feeling of the pivots that falling forward because we're all going to have it. If we don't, we're simply sitting in the box of what this pseudo comfortable box is. Again, I'm air quoting because this comfortable box is really, in my opinion, just this passive life that I'm not here to live. am here for so much more. So Can you just allow yourself and give yourself the permission to feel the uncomfortable, to have the sweaty pit moments, and to not label them? Don't judge them. Just recognize them as signals from your body asking yourself to take sacred pause. to step back for moment and to breathe finding the magic in your breath that long slow inhale through your nose and that long slow exhale through your nose and simply repeat that pattern several times until you can find this rest until you can find this this sacred moment that you're you're really seeing the bigger picture. So it's giving yourself the grace and the kindness and the compassion to allow those feelings to be present and know that you have the ability within you, you have the, the courage within you to step forward and to do the thing, the one thing that you want to do, or the big thing that you want to do, the big thing that you want to live full-time in van. have been doing this now as of this recording for over two years, stepping into that fear and having so many lessons that I've learned in cultivating the self-trust and the self-awareness within me, cultivating the self-love and to having these amazing experiences meeting all these people. So if would have let that fear of failure to keep me back, wouldn't have had these experiences. wouldn't have known what is out there in the magical souls that have been able to hold space for and to really see the transition that's within them to become this ripple effect from my heart to their heart, to their family's heart, to their friend's heart, and to create the magic that is simply in this underutilized tool of our breath. So want to give you the permission that it's safe to feel the feels that are here and also give you the permission to pay attention to your body and know that you can do the thing. You have the courage within you. You can pivot. You can redirect. You can fall forward. You can learn what worked and what didn't work. That is your permission. And then you get to show up differently. You get to do it again. There's no right or wrong. There is no perfection. Again, this is for another show. This is for another solo episode here, is believe that perfection is an illusion. Who says what's perfect? Who says what's right? It is my journey. It is your journey. And so I'm giving you full permission to step into that full permission to live your dreams, your hopes, your desires, to live your life authentically, how your soul came here to live. That is the ripple. That is the permission. And if you can't hear it in my voice, if you can't hear it in my exuberance here, like I'm so freaking passionate about this, this air quote, fear of failure is fucking bullshit. All right, they're simply falling forward and that is your permission. So thank you for listening. Thank you for tuning in. That is something that received as download that want to hold space for you and to give you the opportunity to really redirect those thoughts, really to change those stories that our monkey mind likes to tell us, that likes to keep us in that trapped pattern that does not serve us. So until next time, Lean into it, have the courage, have the compassion and the grace. If it doesn't work out how you thought it would work out and to move forward, take the next step and the next step. So if this resonated with you, please, please, please like, subscribe, share. Change the projection, change and share the ripple. am here for you. am here to hold space for you. am here to see you and to witness you as the beautiful, magical soul that you are. Please, please, please. am so grateful for you being here and am grateful for you tuning in and am grateful for all the magic that you bring into my space, whether it's through the podcast, whether it's through Instagram, through Facebook. And know that I'm sending you so, so, so much love. Until next time, beautiful soul. You are the heart and soul of Living Raw and Radiant. Take this energy, this courage, and infuse it into every moment of your life. Remember, you have their permission to choose you. invite you to stay connected, keep shining your light, and continue to embody the essence of living raw and radiant. Together, we are igniting movement of empowerment, authenticity, and soulful living. Until next time, my friends, keep living your soul's desires.
